Job Summary Performs routine manual and clerical duties related to the operation of a storage area. Loads, unloads, transports, stores, issues, and cares for various supplies, materials, furniture, and inter school mail. This class lies below that of Stock Clerk II.
Essential Functions
Drives delivery vehicles up to 26,000 GVW to schools and administrative centers throughout Duval County to deliver supplies, materials, furniture, mail, books, film, and related items.
Assists in filling and receiving orders for supplies and materials. Issues a variety of warehouse inventory and emergency items.
Performs minor maintenance such as checking and adding oil, water, fuel; checking tire pressure; and reporting problems and necessary repairs on assigned vehicles.
Loads and unloads materials and supplies.
Stores and maintains proper order of supplies and materials.
Cleans the storage area.
Disassembles and/or assembles furniture for the purpose of moving and relocation.
Assists in the maintenance of simple records and takes physical inventory.
Inputs and retrieves inventory data on a personal computer or handheld scanner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Open Requirements: Must have had at least six (6) months of warehouse or delivering goods experience.
Promotional Requirements: NALicensing: A valid Class E Florida Driver’s License is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of storeroom methods and procedures
Knowledge of the automated inventory systems used by the School District
Skill in making and verifying mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions
Skill in establishing and maintaining stock room and inventory records
Skill in using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
Skill in operating personal computers and other standard office equipment
Ability to maintain manual and computerized records
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to disassemble and assemble furniture
Ability to input and retrieve inventory data on a personal computer
