Performs semi-skilled work involving receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, warehouse, or storage. Keeps records and compiles stock reports. Must be available to work regularly. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in storeroom, warehouse, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment. Return damaged or defective items to vendors. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Receive and count stock items, and record data. Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Provide assistance or direction to other storeroom workers. Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock. Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions. Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued. Confer with engineering and purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability. Determine sequence and release of back orders according to stock availability. Compile, review, and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents to assess supply needs. One year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities. Be available to assist with meal service (i.e. replenish service lines, clearing of empty dishes) Understands OSHA requirements, Labor requirements (Wage Determination), and employment law as it relates to managing the workforce. Understand and follow BCI Employee Handbook, policy and procedures, and payroll requirements. Comply with all HACCP standards. Understand and oversee cash management and control operations. Manage the workforce in a fair and consistent manner. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs Walks, stands and moves about the kitchen and dining facility to ensure compliance with SOP Some bending and stooping The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machines, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine and computer printer.
