Objective This position serves as the company expert for all hydro‑excavating and sewer jetting product sales, support and service. The individual serves as the first point of contact for customers with product or application issues; troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving customer issues; a hands‑on demonstration operator to assist in sales opportunities; serves as a liaison with OEM partners.
Responsibilities
Serves as company technical and operating expert on hydro‑excavating and jetting industry and methods, training MacAllister Product Support Representatives and other Sales Representatives on hydro‑excavating and jetting equipment. Individual also trains and educates customer base on represented product lines.
Serves as first line of contact for any customer application or technical issues. Troubleshoots and assists customer in working through problems, interfacing with service department and utilizing MacAllister Technicians as necessary.
Performs delivery of all new hydro‑excavating and jetting equipment and trains customer crews and mechanics on best practices; including proper operation and maintenance of products and related systems.
Serves as a liaison between MacAllister and OEMs, solving issues and seeking the win‑win for all parties involved.
Significantly impacts and influences the sales and support success of MacAllister hydro‑excavating and jetting new, used, and rental sales.
Provides input into strategic plan for hydro‑excavating and jetting product support; proactively understanding and meeting the needs of all customer needs. Acts as liaison between Sales and Service staff regarding equipment issues.
Represents MacAllister in relevant industry associations.
Qualifications
Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a post‑secondary education or technical associates degree or certification.
Mechanical aptitude with hydro‑excavating and jetting products and the ability to discuss the products and detailed applications with prospects and customers.
Specialist must be able to operate and work on machines, troubleshooting, identifying and resolving technical issues. Must possess a strong understanding of the hydro‑excavating and jetting processes and ancillary operations.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant, applied industry experience, sales experience a plus.
Willingness to travel and work long hours when needed.
Dedicated self‑starter with the ability to work independently without the need for daily direct supervision and with a strong sense of urgency.
Strong verbal, non‑verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
Functions as a team player; possessing the ability to professionally work with customers, vendors, peers and co‑workers, as well as the ability to develop strong long‑term relationships.
Strong customer service skills and a thorough understanding of Price, Quality and Turnaround principles.
Able to convey concepts of total cost of ownership, productivity, and equipment uptime at multiple levels of a customer relationship – operators to business owners.
