Essential Job Functions
Maintain regular work schedule and process Fair Hearing requests.
Testify during Fair Hearings as technical authority on eligibility issues.
Review case records to validate determinations and conduct case reviews.
Provide guidance to regional staff on potential errors and counseling clients on benefits.
Research policies, collaborate with attorneys, and coordinate hearing activities.
Interview clients via phone or in person; verify income and resources.
Document case records using automated systems.
Resolve complaints and escalated issues.
Perform shadowing and other duties as assigned.
Work occasional overtime, including weekends, when required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Interviewing techniques for sensitive information.
Basic arithmetic, percentage calculations, and data entry.
Prioritization, time management, and meeting deadlines.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Operating computer equipment, Internet, Microsoft Office.
Work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to handle a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
60 semester‑hour college experience preferred.
Two years’ relevant customer‑service experience with public contact.
Twelve months experience as a MEPD Advisor II in the last year.
Recent experience using TIERS, EWMS, Medicaid policy, and automated systems.
Willingness to travel up to 20% and to work evenings, weekends.
Additional Information
Telework may be eligible subject to policy and supervisor discretion.
