Position Details Type: Regular Part‑time (30hrs/week) Hours: mostly 11 a‑7 p, but flexibility needed to cover other meal times Every Other Weekend Required
Responsibilities
Obtains needed supplies from storeroom freezer, etc. to complete daily assignments.
Ensures standardized recipes are used in preparation of all menu items.
Inspects and tastes food for quality, presentation, and adherence to menu.
Works closely with the chef/senior cook in preparation and blast chilling of foods.
Prepares food for special functions.
Assists with inventory and projected orders, prepares and places food and supply orders as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Two years of culinary school or training preferred.
At least two years of quantity cooking experience required; preferred in a hospital, restaurant, or hotel.
Supervisory experience in therapeutic cooking preferred.
Basic command of English language (speaking, reading, writing) and basic math skills required to ensure correct performance in duties, understanding and following instructions, dietary restrictions, etc. for patient, resident and employee safety.
Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team and customers.
Must be able to adapt to circumstances that arise and be able to make decisions quickly to problem‑solve any issues that may develop.

Compensation Compensation Range: $19.50 – $31.20 per hour
The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training. As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range.
Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.
