Job Title: Seasonal Tax Preparer
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable
Tax Preparer
to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and providing exceptional client service during the tax preparation process.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Review financial records, income statements, and other documentation to ensure accuracy.
Identify potential tax credits and deductions to minimize client tax liability.
Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and filing deadlines.
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related questions.
Maintain confidentiality and security of client information.
Assist with tax planning strategies and provide guidance on compliance issues.
Support audit processes and respond to inquiries from tax authorities when needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
1+ years of experience in tax preparation (individual and/or business).
Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, Drake, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
EA or CPA certification is a plus.
Pay Rate: $30 - $40 / hour
