Job Summary The Cables Factory / Side-Line Rugged is responsible for performing a wide range of cable assembly, wiring, testing, and packaging duties across multiple production areas. This position is cross-trained to support various departments based on workflow needs and is essential to maintaining on-time delivery, quality standards, and operational efficiency. The Employee must follow established work instructions, adhere to safety standards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform wiring, component installation, board installation, and cable harnessing according to established work instructions and processes.

Float between production lines, including Sideline / Rugged cable operations, side-line assembly, and other departments as required by workflow demands.

Use provided materials, tools, and the ERP system (CORE) to complete daily operational and documentation tasks.

Test cables for proper functionality and perform retesting as needed to meet product specifications.

Verify that all cables and components are correctly labeled, identified, counted, and matched to required part numbers.

Apply correct packaging codes and ensure that all labels are accurately placed, legible, and undamaged.

Input pins, connectors, and other components according to assembly process requirements.

Inspect work at all stages to maintain product quality and compliance with company standards.

Complete all assigned tasks within established takt times to support efficient production flow.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA safety regulations at all times.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in every department served.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Experience in cable assembly or manufacturing preferred but not required; training provided.

Ability to read and follow written work instructions, diagrams, and schematics.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Basic computer skills and ability to operate ERP systems.

Ability to stand, sit, reach, or perform repetitive hand movements for extended periods.

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to

25 lbs

as needed.

Manual dexterity required for pin insertion, wiring, and component handling.

Visual requirements include close vision, color differentiation, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to tools, machinery, and materials associated with cable assembly.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
