Job Title Fleet Maintenance Assistant
Location Dickinson, ND
Status Non-Exempt, Hourly
Schedule Mon‑Fri, with occasional weekend. Daytime hours.
Driver Yes – Limited

Job Summary Assist the Operations department with maintenance and repairs of all commercial fleet vehicles and facility equipment.
Essential Duties
Perform fleet vehicle maintenance as requested
Ensure DOT vehicles are in compliance with regulations
Maintain facility pumps and systems
Maintain an effective and organized workspace
Assist with shop cleaning
Operate and maintain all equipment and tools safely
Follow hazardous waste disposal procedures
Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures
Special projects as needed
Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. Strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
Forklift certification preferred
CDL beneficial but not required
Driving Requirements Follow all FMCSA and DOT regulations. May be required to drive light‑duty vehicle for parts.
Physical Requirements Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 55 pounds. Move 55‑gallon drums up to 600 pounds with equipment. Must reach, push, pull, and grasp with arms and hands. Work standing, crouching, kneeling, sitting, walking, driving, climbing, transitioning in/out of vehicles. Visual acuity for safe operation of motor vehicles.
Work Environment Indoors and outdoors, exposure to extreme winter weather, precipitation, wind, chemicals, dust, odors, fumes, oil, gases. Noise moderate to loud.
Language Skills Read, interpret, and understand safety rules, SDSs, operating instructions, and procedure manual. English fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending.
Computer Skills Navigate web browser, mobile apps, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, SharePoint), and electronic timesheets.
Work Ethic Trustworthy, dependable, respectful, and truthful with a commitment to safety and excellent customer service. Follow policies and procedures and take responsibility for own actions.
Eligibility Must pass pre‑employment drug test, background check, motor vehicle record check, and education verification.
