POSITION PURPOSE Acts as a significant support to the mortgage loan officers to efficiently and accurately process and close mortgage loans elevating the experience for our borrowers and team members. Delivers accurate and reliable data entry services, responds timely to member inquiries, resolves complex member problems, and provides a superior internal and external member support all in relation to mortgage needs and functions. Reviews and audits new loan data to ensure the accuracy of each loan entered in the loan application system. Discuss loan options with applicants to determine the term, loan amount and financial income to support the applicant’s loan request. Reviews each file after the loan structure has been determined and sends appropriate disclosures and/or adverse action notice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Conduct initial interviews or contact members for additional information as necessary including accurately inputting loan applications into current mortgage software platform.

Receive, review and structure loan applications for completeness.

Lead the distribution of incoming mortgage loan applications to appropriate mortgage personnel.

Play a lead function in facilitating the Lock Desk for the mortgage pipeline.

Request and facilitate organizing required documents for the type of loan application.

Prepare loan disclosure documents for signatures and Adverse Action Forms in accordance with Credit Union procedures and compliance.

Prepare correspondence as necessary.

Ensure sensitive items, files, and original loan documents are secured properly.

Keep management informed of area activities and any significant problems.

Attend and participate in all meetings, trainings and committees as required.

Satisfactorily complete all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include Bank Secrecy Act compliance.

Participate in community and civic events to promote awareness of the Credit Union.

Regular and predictable attendance.

Ensure work area and assigned equipment are clean, secure, and well-maintained.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification:

High school graduate or equivalent; additional business coursework or loan specific training or certifications preferred.

Experience Required:

One-year financial industry/banking experience required (mortgage lending related experience preferred).

Preferred Knowledge:

General understanding of Credit Union operations.

Knowledge of Credit Union loan and mortgage documents and state title requirements.

Understanding of loan applications and filing requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS None:
