About the position
This position will be assigned to the Peterson SFB, CO. This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave). Responsible for the overall economic and efficient operation of the Outdoor Recreation Program.
Responsibilities Administers the business, financial, and recreational operation of the outdoor activities program within established policies and objectives. Oversees a variety of geographically dispersed facilities and activities and ensures usage does not conflict with policies governing participation. Develops goals and objectives for the Outdoor Recreation Programs that meet agency intent. Generates comprehensive short‑ and long‑term budgets and fiscal requirements to meet program objectives and maintain internal control. Evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing outdoor recreation activities from the standpoint of participants’ response, resources, unforeseen developments, and program evaluations. Adapts and varies program activities as a result of findings. Preserves outdoor activities and equipment, prepares and submits work order requests, and coordinates with appropriate installation offices. Maximizes recreational use of natural resources to include development, conservation, sound usage, improvement and management. Plans, schedules and executes outdoor activities such as biking, camping, canoeing, ice skating, kayaking, paintball, rock climbing, scuba diving, skiing, skydiving, snowboarding, swimming, white water rafting and overnight recreational trips. Supervises personnel assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Program, assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinate employees, plans and carries out the training and development of employees, evaluates employee work performance and recommends selections, status changes and disciplinary actions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
Must be willing to provide information that you are a U.S. citizen.
Work may require other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Must obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license due to the operation of a government vehicle for official travel away from duty station in accomplishing duties.
This position requires a drug test due to the driving requirement IAW AFI 90-508.
