We offer a competitive base pay range of $27.39/hr - $36.98/hr and a hybrid schedule: 4 days in office and 1 day remote. Urban Pathways has engaged New York City’s most vulnerable residents since 1975, empowering them to discover their strengths and create their best selves.
Responsibilities
Develop individualized employment plans that align with clients’ aptitude, education, physical ability, and career goals.
Collaborate with the Program Director to identify appropriate employment opportunities for clients.
Assist clients with resume development, cover letter preparation, job application completion, and interview technique coaching.
Provide counseling and support on workplace issues and feedback on employment status.
Monitor computer labs and train clients in computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
Conduct field work, including accompanying clients to job interviews.
Maintain and submit all required documents and reports in compliance with Urban Pathways, regulatory, and funding agency policies and procedures.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions as required.
Develop and maintain relationships with community services and resources.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
Minimum two years of experience working with people living with mental health conditions or formerly homeless populations.
Experience developing and leading psycho‑educational groups.
Experience with Job Development, Supportive Employment, and IPS (Individual Placement and Support) models highly preferred.
Proficiency in vocational/employment counseling for individuals with barriers to employment.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with online chart record databases such as AWARDS is a plus.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Required to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
