Hospital Account Director, Endocrinology (Boston, MA or New York, NY)
Recordati Rare Diseases, Inc. (RRD) develops high‑impact therapies for rare diseases. This role focuses on hospital and institutional access to RRD’s endocrine portfolio.
Reporting Structure Reports to: National Hospital Director Direct reports: None
Overview The Hospital Rare Disease Account Manager leads strategic engagement with academic institutions, pituitary centers and IDNs to secure formulary inclusion and consignment programs, ensuring prescribers have uninterrupted access.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead formulary and consignment program efforts within academic and institutional accounts, mapping buying centers (P&T, Pharmacy Ops, Materials Management, Finance, IT).
Expand and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders (pharmacists, KOLs, payer industry relations, clinical teams) to support RRD brand awareness and accessibility.
Build and maintain relationships with P&T committee members, hospital pharmacists, and clinical decision‑makers via tailored clinical/economic presentations.
Support clinical/economic discussions and implement initiatives aligned with RRD and institutional goals.
Engage KOLs to foster advocacy and support for RRD therapies.
Secure and implement local account‑based formulary initiatives and inpatient consignment programs.
Hold agreements on par levels, reorder rules, charge capture, reconciliation cadence, return/expiry process; coordinate go‑live with customers.
Coordinate services with Access, HEOR and ensure systems readiness, stock management, and level adjustments.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
10+ years in healthcare/biotech/pharma with a focus on rare disease (endocrinology & metabolism highly desirable).
Proven success in strategic account management, stakeholder engagement, and market access roles.
Strong knowledge of rare disease landscape including hospital dynamics, payers, and professional organizations.
Excellent strategic thinking, presentation communication skills; collaborative team player.
Travel up to 70% during peak times.
Preferred Experience
Experience with rare disease oral, injectable and infused therapies.
Hospital formulary, P&T and pull‑through experience preferred.
Relationships with C‑Suite, executive leadership, and pharmacy directors in target accounts.
Record of building strategic partnerships with hospital decision‑makers and IDNs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands Must be able to fly via commercial air carrier.
Location Remote; requires up to 70% travel.
