Life Enrichment Manager
Blakehurst is recruiting for a hospitality focused Life Enrichment Manager to join our team! This position is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of an activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all Chestnut Green residents. Primary responsibilities include: Designs and implements a comprehensive activity program based on the LCS eight dimensions of Wellness. The activity program will focus on the abilities and interests of the residents. Implementation will consider the functional abilities of the residents. Coordinates monthly Resident Council meetings, inviting special guests and following up on any issues that are brought forth. Performs and directs the movement of residents to and from the activity areas, with assistance from other departments. Completes and/or oversees the activity assessments as required by state and federal regulations. Completes the MDS, Care Plans and progress notes for all comprehensive care residents. Completes assessments and provides input for the Assisted Living service plans. Completes and/or oversees daily participation documentation. Contacts and coordinates outside contractors (musicians, drama, art, etc.) to enhance the program available to residents. Directs volunteer activities, enlists their support and coordinates their efforts; provides training and supervision of volunteers. Attends all meetings assigned, such as daily morning meeting QAPI, Care Plans meeting, etc. Responsible as Co-Champion of the LCS Signature Program entitled Heartfelt Connections. Qualifications include: Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist, occupational therapist, or occupational therapy assistant, or Two years' experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting within the last five years, one year of which was full time in a long-term care activities program with guidance from a qualified consultant in a health care setting. Must have certification from National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
