Freelance Construction / Remodeling Estimator
Peter Johnson Builders is a company focused on high end, architecturally-designed custom homes and remodels, and we are looking for a talented and motivated Estimator to oversee and control the pre construction process.
This is a support position where the candidate will have the opportunity to take part in every aspect of the pre construction process. The candidate will take a construction project from concept to contract.
This is a remote position. Candidates must be available to work 8 am - 5 pm, Mon.- Fri. EST.
Qualified candidates must submit a sample take off for a residential construction project along with your resume to be considered.
Responsibilities:
Read and understand design documents including blueprints, specifications, and project manuals.
Contribute to cost estimates and bid solicitations by performing quantity takeoffs.
Manage proposals in coordination with Business Development.
Contribute to cost estimates utilizing trade partner budgets and quotes, as well as unit pricing.
Complete detailed material take offs across all areas of construction.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Excel Google Docs
Bachelor's Degree in construction, engineering, architecture, accounting, business preferred
5 years of experience as an estimator or Project manager in the residential sector.
Experience with Bluebeam a must
