Overview DSPs help individuals live with meaning and dignity, creating professional, positive, and nurturing relationships. DSPs are representatives of Amivie and provide individualized care in motor skills, communication, socialization, personal self‑care, ADLs, adaptive behaviors, electronic documentation, medication management, meal preparation, and more.
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with goal completion as documented in the individualized support plan.
Provide assistance with ADLs: bathing, grooming, brushing teeth, toileting, feeding, meal preparation, etc., based on individual needs.
Safely transport individuals in company or personally owned vehicles.
Accompany individuals to community integration activities.
Complete required documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) timely.
Actively engage with individuals at home and community.
Uphold, respect, and advocate for individual rights at all times.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
Adhere to company policies and core values to foster a professional environment.
Establish and uphold appropriate professional boundaries.
Reporting: Must report suspicion of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
Administer prescribed medication after training.
Proficiency with technology.
Stay awake and alert for all shifts.
Perform physical demands (lifting, transfers).
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum age 18.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Reliable transportation.
Successful background checks.
Successful health screening (TB screening).
