Residential Lending Operations
team.
Job Summary The Mortgage Loan Processor is entrusted with the critical responsibility of managing and verifying all requisite information to process mortgage loan applications. This role ensures strict adherence to regulatory compliance and facilitates effective communication among borrowers, loan officers, and third parties to achieve successful loan outcomes.
What You Can Expect To Work On
Collaborate closely with loan officers to ensure timely and seamless communication with borrowers, third parties, and realtors throughout the loan process.
Analyze credit packages, review applications, disclosures, credit, assets, liabilities and income calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with lending regulations.
Ensure file accuracy by reviewing and analyzing all aspects of the mortgage credit package including but not limited to: read and analyze AUS (DU/LP) and obtain any further requirements based on the findings, accuracy of system input, reviewing asset and income documentation, including personal and business tax returns, credit report and credit documentation.
Review credit prior to closing for undisclosed debt and address any additional debt not shown on the original credit report.
Proactively manage the loan pipeline to meet service levels, contract dates, lock expirations and deadlines.
Possess a thorough understanding of various loan products, including VA, Conventional, FHA and Portfolio Underwriting guidelines to assist in restructuring loans and clearing underwriting conditions.
High level of responsiveness to internal and external customers; willingness to go above and beyond, taking extra steps if necessary to ensure completeness and a smooth process for all.
Responsible for heeding any system warnings with regards to the CFPB ATR/QM rules. Reporting any information to UW and/or the Loan Originator that they may find out during the processing of the loan that could impact the loan’s ATR/QM status.
What You Offer Us A minimum of 2 years recent mortgage processing experience required. A high school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent college coursework preferred.
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus. Ability to navigate difficult conversations through both internal and external groups to achieve a positive outcome.
Strong analytical, detail oriented, problem‑solving ability to exercise good judgement and to help find resolution to problems independently while also considering the downstream impact.
Ability to effectively collaborate within a teamwork environment and build strong working relationships across functional partners, maintain effective communications required to enhance customer experience, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively manage pipeline and contract closing dates while delivering exceptional customer experience.
Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and meet service level turnaround deadlines.
Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial persona with excellent time‑management and organization skills, which requires minimal supervision.
Thrive in an environment focused on collaboration and innovation with the ability to implement, adapt to innovative technology and process workflows.
Knowledge
Strong understanding of Residential Mortgage products, such as VA, Conventional, & FHA
Non‑QM mortgage product knowledge is a plus
Income Calculations, employment verification
Credit & asset review
Microsoft products (Outlook, Word & Excel)
Credit and background checks will be required.
