Sous Chef – Culinary Excellence at Oaks Whitaker Glen (CCRC)
About the Role The
Sous Chef
plays a key leadership role in our
high-end, cook-from-scratch kitchen , assisting the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of culinary operations. This position requires
refined culinary skills, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service . The Sous Chef ensures
consistency, creativity, and excellence
in every dish while fostering a culture of
teamwork, efficiency, and professionalism .
✅ Support the Executive Chef in overseeing
day-to-day kitchen operations .
✅ Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to
recipes, standards, and presentation .
✅ Train and mentor cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers to improve skills and performance.
✅ Conduct daily lineups and assist with onboarding and retention of top culinary talent.
Ensure smooth service execution during all meal periods.
Oversee
mise en place , prep schedules, and line setup for accuracy and readiness.
Enforce
health and safety protocols , food handling standards, and cleanliness requirements.
Foster a positive, disciplined, and respectful kitchen culture.
Maintain composure and leadership during
high-volume service periods .
Qualifications
Proven leadership, training, and organizational abilities.
Ability to thrive under pressure in a
fast-paced, upscale environment .
ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
preferred.
