designed to prepare you for a full‑time role as a

Commercial Lines Client Associate

at Houchens Insurance Group beginning in January 2026 in Bowling Green, KY. After the program concludes in Bowling Green, you must be willing to relocate to another HIG office location.

This program is your gateway to a dynamic career in client service with endless growth opportunities. You’ll gain hands‑on experience, build lasting relationships, and receive mentorship from industry professionals.

Responsibilities Provides technical support to department personnel in processing commercial insurance policies. Responsibilities include:

Preparing accurate, properly completed certificates of insurance.

Confirming existence of coverage certified; checks for and secures missing information and authorization when necessary.

Completing simple change requests, checking endorsements, cancellation endorsements and audits for accuracy and relevancy.

Preparing accurate, properly completed auto ID cards; processes new business and renewal certificates, auto ID’s, endorsements, cancellations, and audits.

Following up on direct bill late payments and keeping Producer and Account Advisor informed.

Preparing renewal files and renewal kits including ordering of loss runs and loss summaries.

Learning all Commercial Lines service standards and procedures.

File Management (20%) Documenting all correspondence, follow up for necessary information updates at appropriate times, and keep the client files organized and up to date.

Teamwork (10%) Works together with team and with other departments, such as Marketing, Accounting, Claims, Producers, etc., including conferencing with Producer or Account Executive to discuss the execution of strategies. Manages PTO to work with departmental needs. Volunteers to back up and/or assist other associates as needed.

Determination (10%) Displays commitment and initiative to meet department and agency education goals as set forth in the organization’s education program.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
