Assistant Golf Professional City of Mont Belvieu, Texas is accepting applications for an Assistant Golf Professional at the Eagle Pointe Golf Course.

POSITION SUMMARY As a member of the Golf Management Team, the Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the golf operation: tee times, course play, tournaments and outings, lessons, merchandising, training, etc. The Assistant Golf Professional provides highly efficient and superior customer service, maintains and provides daily records to assist the Head Golf Professional with reports, and supervises the sales staff and cart/range staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists Head Golf Professional with hiring, training and supervising Sales and cart/range staff.

Effectively manages numerous types of tournaments from start to finish, including participation in meetings.

Develops and implements clinics and camps.

Assists customers by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules and regulations.

Operates golf shop in absence of sales staff.

Acts as backup to Head Golf Professional.

Manages the daily opening and closing of golf operations as needed.

Coordinates junior golf activities.

Performs starter or marshal duties as needed.

Ensures course is properly marked at all times.

During emergency conditions, all City employees are subject to being called to work to perform emergency service duties as assigned.

Performs any and all related duties or assignments as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

In absence of Head Golf Professional, manages employees of the department, assists in performance management, and hiring.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

PGA Apprentice – Level 1 or higher.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Three years’ prior golf course experience preferred.

Actively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) program.

Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.

Fundamental supervisory practices and principles.

Strong leadership skills.

Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the expected behavior and work ethic.

Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.

Self‑motivated with a desire to promote and market.

Excellent service and customer‑focused attitude; experienced in written and oral business communications.

Must possess a valid Texas Driver License.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.

Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data.

Act and perform independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.

Self‑directed, multi‑tasker, and detail oriented.
