Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer (PFO00068P) to support nuclear operations and engineering in Oak Ridge, TN with potential travel. The role focuses on tackling challenges and supporting life‑changing infrastructure across communities.
Responsibilities
Design HVAC systems with at least 5 years of experience.
Deliver projects from concept through detailed design completion.
Use discipline‑specific technical software such as REVIT, Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, PipeFlo, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
Communicate effectively at all levels internally and with client organizations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
U.S. citizenship required. No dual citizens or visas.
Preferred Qualifications
PE license.
NQA‑1 experience.
Q clearance or eligibility to obtain a “Q”.
Experience working with subcontractors to produce a consolidated design.
Previous DOE nuclear project experience.
Current or former U.S. security clearance.
Residence within commutable distance from Oak Ridge, TN office.
Essential Functions & Work Environment
Standard office PC with software will be provided.
On‑site security training mandatory before performing project duties.
Timely response to resolve issues expected.
Travel required as needed.
Valid driver’s license required.
Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork.
Grooming and dress suitable for the position and not a safety risk.
Pre‑employment drug and background check required.
