Child Life Specialist (Full-Time Varied) Pediatrics
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Pediatrics/PICU Manager, this position is part of the multi-disciplinary health care team, conducting activities that focus on the emotional and developmental needs of children and families using play and other forms of communication and education. The role assesses, recommends, and develops programs and policies that provide a safe, therapeutic, and age‑appropriate pediatric environment.
Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year in acute health.
Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field.
Knowledge and skill in child life assessment techniques, psychosocial care for hospitalized children and families, bereavement support, principles of pediatric growth, cognitive and emotional development, adult and child education principles and practices, medical terminology, and common pediatric injuries and illnesses.
Certified Child Life Specialist (CHILDLIFE/PLAY THERAPY COORD).
CT CPRBLS – Basic Life Support – AHA.
