Develops and administers advanced career programming and resources for the students and alumni of a college. Serves as an industry expert in the areas of executive recruitment and organizational management. Develops new internship programs and placement opportunities with local, national and global employers.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement programming to educate experienced graduate students and alumni about career development and job search activities.

Consult with experienced candidates and employers on issues related to career growth and hiring programs; conduct assessments and administer executive coaching to working professionals.

Contact potential employers to promote placement activities for the college. Collaborate with executive recruiters to place graduate students and alumni in senior level and executive management roles.

Serve as liaison between employers, faculty, administrators and alumni to advance career opportunities.

Represent the college to external groups to promote the admissions, alumni relations and placement goals of the college.

Manage experienced hire programs for one or more graduate degree programs. Monitor, analyze and report on labor market conditions and emerging technologies to assist in program development.

Maintain and analyze data and conduct assessments regarding career services and placement for reporting to the university and the media.

Develop training for students inside and outside the classroom to help them build and assess skills related to professional communications and development.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Position Information This position works in the Rockwell Career Center at the C. T. Bauer College of Business. The Rockwell Career Center supports over 8,500 business majors within the C.T. Bauer College of Business by providing career and professional development, hosting industry-focused events, and connecting academia with industry. We are a committed team of professionals focused on student success.

The Career Development specialist will provide career development services to undergraduate MIS (Management Information Systems) students at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, through individual advising/coaching, workshops, and seminars. Advise undergraduate students on career related topics such as career exploration, resumes and cover letters, technical and case interviews, search strategies, offer negotiation, and more. Collaborate with the undergraduate and MBA/MS career coaching teams to apply best practices and provide world-class career services. Work with industry relations managers to gain information and promote internship and job opportunities to students, and to prepare students to interview for these roles. Participate in First Destination data collection efforts. Support institutional events, including orientation, career mixers, student organizations and other student events. Collaborate with colleagues in the Rockwell Career Center, Undergraduate Business Programs Office and college-wide.

Preferences

Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Demonstrated ability to speak and present in a classroom environment.

Exemplary ability to motivate students through the job search process.

Minimum of 1-year experience with career coaching or recruiting.

Business experience in recruiting, consulting, industry specific roles, and/or experience working in higher education.

3 years of relevant work experience in career coaching, leadership training within a business career services office, or a combination of business career services experience and industry experience in a related business industry.

MQ: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job‑related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job‑related experience.
