We are looking for a detail-oriented and empathetic FMLA Leaves Processor to manage and administer employee leave requests under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other applicable leave policies. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, provide exceptional support to employees, and maintain accurate records. This role requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Setup, process, and review FMLA leave requests, including eligibility determination, documentation verification, and approval/denial notifications.
Communicate with employees, clients and HRPS to explain FMLA policies, procedures, and their rights and responsibilities during leave.
Coordinate with healthcare providers, employees, and management to obtain necessary medical certifications and updates.
Track leave durations, monitor return-to-work dates, and ensure timely follow-ups with employees and supervisors.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee leave records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Stay current on FMLA regulations, state-specific leave laws, and company policies to ensure compliance.
Assist in resolving leave-related inquiries or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare reports and metrics on leave usage for HR leadership as needed.
Support additional HR functions, such as disability claims or accommodations, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in HR, leave administration, or a related role; prior FMLA processing experience is a plus.
Skills
Strong knowledge of FMLA regulations and familiarity with state leave laws.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a keen eye for detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HRIS software (e.g., ADP, Workday).
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-service mindset.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Certifications HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus but not required.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases and associated tasks simultaneously.
