Job Description The Direct Sales Agent Specialist is responsible for profitable growth, achieving business goals by driving new business sales and understanding customers’ needs to build rapport and trust. This position develops and retains a book of business within the market/retail location, attracting and generating new customers, cross‑selling existing customers across all product lines including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance. The role sells to walk‑in customers, markets products outside of the office via marketing calls and in‑person visits, and assists customers in the office.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and attract new customers and build a sales pipeline.
Cross‑sell and retain existing customers to achieve sales and retention goals.
Utilize community contacts and physical presence to generate referral sources.
Conduct outbound calling to target customer base for product offerings.
Monitor local competitors and recommend initiatives to improve market position.
Partner with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes.
Deliver optimal results in quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction and financial performance while complying with all rules and procedures.
Keep current with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and procedural changes.
Receive customer payments, issue receipts, and reconcile cash drawer reports.
Minimum Qualifications
0–2 years of experience.
P&C licensing preferred; must attain required licensure within 90 days of joining.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
Proven ability to close insurance and ancillary product sales.
Consistently meets and exceeds sales goals through new product sales and cross‑selling/retention.
Leverages community contacts to build multiple centers of influence/referral sources.
Initiates outbound calling to targeted customer base.
Monitors local market competitors and supplies actionable improvement suggestions.
Collaborates with Direct Sales Leadership on strategy, implementation, and growth planning.
Delivers results within appropriate metrics, including compliance with all procedures.
Stays up‑to‑date on underwriting guidelines, policy changes, and company announcements.
Manages customer payments and cash drawer reporting.
Compensation
Unlicensed Candidates:
Base compensation: $17.50 per hour.
Licensed Candidates (Instantly licensed to sell Auto or P&C):
Base compensation: $20.00 per hour.
In addition to the base hourly rate, total compensation may include incentive pay such as commissions and bonuses based on individual and team performance.
