Sr. Data Analyst, Private Markets
LOCATION:
New York City (hybrid) or Fully Remote in the United States
SALARY:
$100,000 - $125,000 (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)
The Role:
The Senior Data Analyst, Private Markets will execute detailed financial statement analyses, perform document markup for extraction, and actively participate in human-in-the-loop feedback processes. Canoe is setting the standard for advanced data extraction and AI in private markets. Working daily alongside product, engineering, and AI teams, you’ll ensure our proprietary extraction models learn accurately from your experience in private markets and your data domain expertise.
What You’ll Do
Detailed Financial Statement Analysis & Document Markup
Analyze, interpret, and precisely markup complex private markets documents for data extraction.
Set the standard of excellence in financial statement analysis and detailed data capture requirement generation.
Human-in-the-Loop AI Model Training & Feedback
Provide direct input into advanced AI model training efforts by identifying extraction errors, edge cases, and patterns.
Work closely with engineers to enhance accuracy, provide timely feedback, and refine extraction models iteratively.
Cross-Team Operational Collaboration
Collaborate actively with product managers, engineers, and other data operations analysts to streamline processes.
Clearly document issues, edge cases, and resolutions for continuous learning and operational improvement.
Quality Assurance & Validation
Regularly execute rigorous quality assurance tests to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
Report and elevate anomalies or persistent issues for strategic resolution.
Define Success for Advanced Data Analytics in Private Markets
High accuracy rates and consistent adherence to markup and extraction standards.
Measurable improvements in AI model performance as a direct result of your operational input.
Effective collaboration with product and engineering, contributing significantly to continuous model development and learning.
Elevation of the private markets data knowledge and discussion across the team.
What We’re Looking For
4–7 years experience in private markets financial analysis, fund operations, or fund administration roles.
Proven experience marking up financial documents (e.g. capital calls, distributions, audited financial statements).
Prior experience or clear aptitude for working with engineering, AI teams, or automation-driven processes.
Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to data accuracy standards.
