We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals for the CDL Class A Driver position at our Thomasville facility. Mobile Food Pantry Driver - Class A Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc. Full job description The Mobile Food Pantry Driver supports the mission by operating and maintaining the Mobile Food Pantry (MFP) truck and equipment, executing distribution activities, and supporting the Mobile Market Place (MMP) program. Responsibilities include working with operations and program staff to ensure food resources are accessible, especially in remote areas, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS Operate the MFP truck safely and professionally, representing Second Harvest positively. Follow policies and procedures related to food safety, handling, sanitation, and disposal, complying with USDA, FDA, and other regulations. Maintain the vehicle, equipment, and facilities, ensuring safety and cleanliness. Complete required training such as ServSafe and forklift certification within designated timeframes. Maintain a valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record. Develop partnerships with site coordinators and partner agencies. Ensure compliance during food distribution and maintain accurate records of distributions, inventory, and client data. Support the planning and execution of distributions, including loading food and managing site activities. Respond appropriately to unruly activity, with authority to shut down sites if necessary. Assist with process improvements and support other organizational activities as needed. Ensure proper vehicle inspections and documentation are completed regularly. Provide excellent customer service and handle client and partner interactions professionally. Other functions Promote teamwork and cooperation within the organization and with external partners. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Skills and Qualifications Training, Education, and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of experience operating a commercial tractor-trailer. Experience with warehouse equipment and safety certifications. Customer service experience of 1-2 years. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of food handling, storage, and warehouse practices preferred. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Experience operating warehouse equipment safely. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends for events. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly; team lifting for heavier loads. Licenses and Certificates Valid Commercial Class A Driver’s License. Maintain a safe driving record. Physical Demands This role involves working in warehouse environments with varying temperatures, operating heavy machinery, and traveling for events.
