FAR Inspections is seeking a
Mortgage Field Services Inspector
to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
As an independent contractor (1099), you will earn a predictable income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage inspections is not required; you must manage time, meet deadlines, and be comfortable driving throughout the day.
Responsibilities
Most inspections take 5–6 minutes.
Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Document general property conditions and determine occupancy using industry standards.
Take 9+ property photos with brief comments.
Fill out required information in a mobile application.
Travel within the assigned county; in some cases you may share the county with another inspector if volume allows.
Requirements
Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage; you pay for your own gas.
Computer with internet connection.
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Personal printer.
Valid driver’s license and pass a standard background check.
Pay & Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume, earning you an equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. You may complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week, depending on county type. Rates are higher in lower volume counties and lower in busy counties. There is no set minimum; workload remains consistent month to month. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
