Mortgage Field Services Inspector - FAR INSPECTIONS
Location: Reno, NV (county level)
Contract: 1099, independent contractor.
FAR Inspections is a 9‑year old company contracting residential occupancy verifications for mortgage lenders. Full‑time and supplemental positions available with a predictable income and a flexible schedule.
Purpose Verify property occupancy and report general conditions using a mobile app.
Responsibilities
Most inspections take 5‑6 minutes.
Complete inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report property conditions and determine occupancy per industry standards.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Drive extended periods of time making numerous stops.
Requirements
Computer with internet access.
Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage.
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Valid driver’s license and pass a standard background check.
Compensation & Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate; rates vary by county and volume. You can earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour, with 20‑500 inspections per month working 2‑30 hours per week. Higher volume counties have lower rates; lower volume counties have higher rates.
There is no mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
