FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income, enjoy a flexible schedule, and operate independently. What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The inspection purpose is to:
Verify property occupancy.
Report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos once the property has gone vacant.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections taking 5–6 minutes per case.
Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops in an assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours 1099 position with a flat rate per inspection. Rates vary by county and volume. Equivalent earnings are approximately $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county and urban/rural location, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates; higher‑volume counties have lower rates. No set minimum inspections per month; work is consistent month to month.
Earn more as you establish yourself, increase availability, or cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
