About Cutalong at Tributer Resort Located in Mineral, Virginia, Cutalong at Tributer Resort spans 1,000 acres bordering Lake Anna and is poised to become a premier destination in Virginia. The development plan includes 891 residential entitlements, featuring estate homes and homesites, executive homesites, cottages, villas, townhomes and luxury condominium accommodations. The resort's planned amenities include a spa & wellness center, multiple restaurants, social and conference meeting space and a rich array of resort activities all anchored by the prestigious Cutalong Golf Club.

Position Overview Our team at Cutalong at Tributer Resort is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Golf Course Superintendent. The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for consistently providing exceptional golfing conditions and the management of golf course maintenance and landscape operations. The Superintendent is expected to lead the golf course maintenance team and to possess strong agronomic, business, interpersonal and communication skills.

The Golf Course Superintendent must be a transparent communicator with a natural style of engagement with both the Club's management team and members. They will have extensive agronomical knowledge and know-how, possessing the ability to proactively search out continued education, professional development, strong peer group relations, and staying at the forefront of research and technology. This individual will have the ability to solve problems at a high level while including the management team in the decision‑making process. The Golf Course Superintendent reports to the Club's General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute daily, weekly and seasonal maintenance programs to ensure optimal turf health and playing conditions.

Manage all aspects of turfgrass management including mowing schedules, fertilization, pesticide applications, irrigation, aeration, topdressing and pest control.

Oversee the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, practice facilities, landscaping and natural areas.

Establish and monitor agronomic standards to maintain consistent course quality.

Oversee operation, repair and optimization of the irrigation system.

Implement water‑management strategies focused on conservation, efficiency and turf health.

Maintain accurate records of water usage and system performance.

Recruit, train, schedule and supervise the maintenance team.

Provide ongoing staff development, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism and pride in course conditions.

Conduct regular meetings to communicate goals and expectations.

Oversee the maintenance, repair and replacement schedule for all turf equipment and maintenance vehicles.

Work with technicians to ensure equipment is operated safely and serviced regularly.

Manage storage facilities, chemical storage, wash pads and maintenance buildings.

Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, including labor, equipment, chemicals and capital projects.

Maintain detailed records on agronomy, environmental compliance, equipment and staff.

Work closely with the General Manager to plan course improvements and long‑term agronomic strategies.

Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations regarding chemical usage, water management and environmental protection.

Promote sustainable practices in turf management and resource conservation.

Communicate professionally with members, guests and leadership regarding course conditions, maintenance schedules and upcoming projects.

Collaborate with golf operations staff to support tournaments and daily play.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture or Plant Science; associate's degree or certification from an intensive two‑year turf grass management program.

6‑8+ years of progressive golf course maintenance experience, including supervisory responsibility and a record of delivering exceptional playing conditions at high‑end facilities.

Strong agronomic expertise, including sand‑based bent grass greens and Bermuda turf management, native area establishment and weed control, pest management, and a sustainable, data‑driven approach to course conditioning.

Proven ability to manage irrigation systems, equipment maintenance and the daily setup required to present consistent, tournament‑quality conditions.

Demonstrated success in bunker and native‑area maintenance, with an emphasis on playability and environmental stewardship.

High‑energy, detail‑oriented leader with a thoughtful, organized approach to SOPs, scheduling, training and overall maintenance planning.

Proven track record of staff development, retention and mentoring‑particularly in preparing Assistants for advancement.

Strong communication skills with members, golfers, golf professionals and the General Manager; demonstrates strong active‑listening skills and applies constructive feedback.

Skilled in budget management, forecasting and capital equipment planning, with a solid understanding of modern turf technology and continuous professional development.

High golf IQ with a deep understanding of ideal playing conditions, golfer expectations and sustainable maintenance philosophies.
