Mortgage Field Services Inspector
– FAR Inspections
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.
Responsibilities
Complete occupancy inspections within 4 days of assignment.
Verify property occupancy and report general property conditions using a mobile application.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Spend extended periods driving within the assigned county territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you can earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour.
Depending on the county (urban or rural) you may complete 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Work is consistent month‑to‑month; higher volume counties have lower rates and vice‑versa. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
