Job Summary As a Sous Chef, you assist with the overall success of the food program and oversee culinary functions. The role involves planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation while adhering to client culture, Health Department regulations, and company standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. You also motivate, train, and direct back‑of‑house associates to meet operational objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and participate in the preparation and cooking of various food items.
Plan and create menus.
Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary teams.
Manage cost controls and control expenditures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5 years of related culinary experience, including at least 1 year in a management role.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.
Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
Ability to set up and distribute production sheets.
Strong supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred.
Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel.
Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
