FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; the ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. We are based in Reno, NV, and have been in business for over 9 years. What is an Occupancy Verification?
MORTGAGE lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Verify property occupancy. Report general condition of the property. Responsibilities
Complete inspections within 4 days of assignment. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in the application. Work primarily exterior inspections (5‑6 minute inspection). Spend extended periods driving within your assigned territory. Meet industry standards for occupancy determination. Requirements
Computer with internet connection. Reliable vehicle (good mileage; you pay for your own gas). Smartphone (Android or iPhone). Printer. Pass a standard background check with valid driver’s license. Pay and Hours
Paid as a 1099 contractor. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. Equivalent earnings range from $30–$40 per hour. Typical volume: 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates; higher volume counties offer lower rates. Work is consistent month‑to‑month. No mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection. Apply
