Entry Level Maintenance Technician – Bigos Management, Inc.
Join the team as an Entry Level Maintenance Technician at Bigos Management, Inc. This role focuses on providing day-to-day maintenance, cleaning, and groundskeeping support across our properties.
SUMMARY This position is responsible for maintaining exterior grounds and interior common areas to meet company standards and applicable laws. The Technician works directly with Property Managers and onsite maintenance personnel to ensure vacant apartments are “rent‑ready” and all work orders are completed promptly.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Maintain exterior grounds and interior common areas in a clean, presentable condition.
Pick up trash, sweep walkways, and manage lawn care & irrigation.
Remove, store, and maintain dumpsters and waste removal schedules.
Shovel walkways and apply sand or salt to icy areas during winter.
Walk property daily to ensure resident rules are followed and the property remains orderly.
Perform general maintenance: minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light carpentry, painting, and landscaping.
Assist onsite maintenance with work‑order completion in apartments and common areas.
Prepare vacated units: remove furniture, touch‑up paint, clean, and repair.
Coordinate with other Maintenance Technicians to maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional demeanor with residents, vendors, employees, and the public.
Adhere to all safety program requirements and promote workplace safety.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Property Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 0‑2 years experience as a Maintenance Technician or equivalent residential apartment experience.
Certified Pool Operator license preferred; must obtain within 6 months if applicable.
Reliable transportation, valid state driver’s license, and proof of insurance if travel between sites is required.
Fluent in English; strong oral and written communication skills.
Diplomatic, courteous, and respectful when dealing with co‑workers and the public.
Decision‑making, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with self‑direction.
Team‑player capable of collaborating in a team environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be capable of frequent kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the day. Regular lifting of >20 lbs, with occasional lifts up to 80 lbs with assistance. May encounter heights, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, dust, gas fumes, noise, and outdoor weather conditions. Required personal protective equipment includes safety gloves, eyewear, ear plugs, and Yaktrax.
REQUIRED TOOLS
Hand tools: hammer, Phillips & slotted screwdriver, crescent wrench, channellock pliers, utility knife, flashlight.
Power tools: cordless drill (recommended).
Measuring devices: tape measure.
