Job Summary A lease consultant is responsible for interpreting and negotiating lease agreements on behalf of MD7’s clients. The lease consultant will work with internal and external stakeholders to process lease transactions from start to closing, including communicating the terms and conditions of those agreements with all parties.
Major Goals and Responsibilities
Call warm to hot leads, establishing a strong relationship with appropriate parties.
Identify correct contact(s) for leads when prospecting.
Negotiate leases and maximize terms with landlords.
Prepare sales proposals for client review.
Communicate details of negotiated lease with key stakeholders.
Update system with documentation of all communications with each party.
Additional Responsibilities
Managing lead pipeline from sourcing to closing.
Being a point of contact to prospective clients by engaging them and delivering value.
Achieve personal target goals on a monthly and annual basis.
Communicate with Landlords: negotiate leases through inbound and outbound calls, contact landlords, and send or review voicemail and emails.
Prepare for Calls: review and research existing and/or new leases using company database/software system, internet and other sources.
Enter Data: enter data into the company database/software system, Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
Prepare Sales Proposals: create presentation packages with accurate information and send them via fax, email, standard mail, etc.
Document Management: draft, revise and read redlines, and work through documents between tenant and client.
Collaboration among multiple departments: work with in‑house teams, tenant contacts and legal attorneys.
Key Characteristics to be Successful in this Role
Demonstrable experience negotiating or persuading others to take action.
Strong attention to detail, including the ability to interpret complex leases.
Intermediate computer skills with Salesforce (or similar CRM software), Outlook, Excel and Word.
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively over the phone.
Ability to prioritize and be self‑motivated with minimal supervision.
Comfortable placing outbound calls.
Strong entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit.
Experience
1‑2 years of sales experience with a commission‑based sales environment.
Customer service, call center and/or experience dealing with the public.
Experience in mortgage, insurance or real estate industry especially considered.
Education High School or better.
