Our client seeks an experienced Attorney towork closely with the principal attorney on various civil litigation cases. This important role focuses on strategy development, mediations, trials, depositions, expert communication, motions, research, and mentoring junior attorneys. A blend of legal expertise and strong leadership skills is essential for fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

An active California Bar license.

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

A minimum of 5 years of settlement/ pre-trial or trial attorneyexperience in one or more of the following areas: personal injury, products liability, construction defects, medical device defects, catastrophic personal injury, or lemon law cases.

Significant experiencein negotiating settlements, mediations,and depositions.

Preferred: 1 year of experience as a First or Second Chair attorney.

Responsibilities

• Drafting legal motions and trial-related documents, including jury instructions, motions in limine, and trial briefs.
• Conducting legal research, managing case files, and planning case strategies.
• Supervising associates and legal support staff.
• Serving as first and second chair for jury trials.
• Attending hearings in state and federal courts.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Participating in mediation sessions.
• Collaborating with expert witnesses.
• Drafting and responding to discovery requests, as well as responding to meet-and-confer letters.
• Communicating with opposing counsel and clients.

Other details

Location: Costa Mesa, CA - An inviting office environment located near South Coast Plaza.

This is a full-time onsite position, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
