JR Recruiter, Contracts & Proposals Position: Recruiter Location: Washington, DC About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team. This role will support both SLED and government contracts/proposals, with a focus on large-scale hiring initiatives. The Recruiter will assist in sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates through the recruitment process while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations. This role is a hybrid position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow in the recruiting field while gaining experience with high-volume hiring, government contracting requirements, and diverse commercial staffing needs. Key Responsibilities Partner with Senior Recruiters and hiring managers to support staffing strategies for commercial and government projects. Assist in large-scale recruiting efforts, including posting job ads, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications. Source candidates through job boards, social media, databases, employee referrals, and networking. Maintain accurate and compliant applicant records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Participate in job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach to build candidate pipelines. Ensure all recruitment activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as government contract requirements (EEO, OFCCP, etc.). Support pre-employment processes such as background checks, reference checks, and onboarding coordination. Provide timely updates to candidates and hiring managers to ensure a smooth recruitment process. Contribute to continuous improvement of recruiting processes and candidate experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. 2+ years of experience in recruiting, staffing, or HR support (internships and agency experience welcome). Strong interest in government and commercial recruiting, with exposure to high-volume or project-based hiring a plus. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS - BULLHORN), job boards, and sourcing tools. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance. U.S. Citizenship may be required for certain government projects.
