This role is responsible for managing the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services while maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring on-time delivery to support daily operations.

As a Purchasing Specialist, You Will:

Execute purchase orders and production orders in accordance with company policies, supplier agreements, and demand forecasts using Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) and supplemental SQL reports

Monitor inventory levels and generate purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels

Track order status, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services

Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and order data within Epicor P21

Collaborate with internal departments, including sales, operations, and production, to meet material and supply requirements

Communicate regularly with vendors to manage lead times, resolve issues, and negotiate pricing or delivery terms

Prepare and analyze purchasing and inventory reports to support continuous improvement initiatives

Review and adjust inventory levels to support uninterrupted production while preventing stockouts and excess inventory

Skills and Requirements:

3-5 years of Purchasing or Procurement experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment

Strong proficiency with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) ERP system required

Solid working knowledge of purchasing best practices, vendor negotiation, and inventory management

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines

Experience in fluid power, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or construction-related supply chains

Familiarity with Lean purchasing principles or continuous improvement methodologies

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; an Associate’s degree or high school diploma with significant relevant experience will be considered

Demonstrated skills in sourcing, vendor negotiation, and purchasing best practices

Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems; experience with Epicor Prophet 21 preferred

Industry knowledge within fluid power, hydraulics, or related industrial markets is a plus
