ROLE SUMMARY
The Physician Relations & Patient Growth Field Specialist is responsible for driving new patient acquisition and strengthening physician & clinic relationships within an assigned territory. This role serves as the frontline representative of Trulieve, building trust with medical professionals, educating clinic staff, and supporting patient access to medical cannabis. Field Specialists execute territory growth strategies through direct physician engagement, community outreach, and event participation, aligning their efforts with Regional Managers and statewide & national initiatives.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build, maintain, and expand relationships with qualified physicians, providers, and clinic staff within the assigned zone.
Consistently educate physicians and office staff on Trulieve products, services, and the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP).
Support patient growth by ensuring physicians feel confident recommending Trulieve as a trusted partner for their patients.
Attend and represent Truluve at local community events, patient advocacy group meetings, and health-related initiatives.
Tailor education and outreach efforts to the unique needs of each physician’s patient population.
Maintain expert-level knowledge of Truluve’s product catalog, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
Relay insights, feedback, and competitive intelligence from the field to Regional Managers to inform broader growth strategies.
Partner with the marketing team and Regional Managers to execute campaigns, refine messaging, and maximize physician engagement and patient growth.
Resolve physician and patient escalations with professionalism and urgency, ensuring timely solutions that maintain trust and strengthen relationships.
Collect, track, and report field data on physician engagement, patient acquisition, and competitor activity to support territory and statewide growth strategies.
Communicate updates on new regulations, program changes, and compliance requirements to physicians and clinic staff, ensuring accurate understanding and adherence.
Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving skills when interacting with patients, physicians, and community partners.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred in healthcare, sales, marketing, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in healthcare, medical sales, physician relations, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal, communication skills, and ability to build lasting relationships across multiple levels of an organization.
Charismatic, energetic, and engaging presence that leaves a lasting positive impression and inspires trust.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to connect authentically, build relationships quickly, and influence diverse audiences.
Organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Confident presenter with the ability to tailor education to physicians, staff, and community groups.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Knowledge of the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP) strongly preferred.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass a level 1 and level 2 background check
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
Must be able to relate to and work with patrons of different ages, abilities, and patrons that at times are experiencing emotional distress, or displaying a hostile attitude
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
Constantly required to move/traverse throughout entire facility, including tight spaces
Accurately communicate and exchange sensitive information and ideas with others, including members of the public; observe/inspect details at varying ranges; operate computing devices
Frequently required to manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights (e.g., products, packaging, tools, office machinery): push/pull objects up to 50lbs; lift/carry/position objects up to 50 lbs.; ascend/descend stool/ladder/steps; position self and/or objects at floor level (e.g., crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl)
Must have visual and auditory acuity with or without aids to perform all functions of the position
Occasionally required to remain in a seated position
WORK SCHEDULE 45+ hours weekly with flexible hours and travel as needed. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
TRAVEL Travel up to 75% of work schedule to support the needs of the business.
