Senior Electrical Estimator
MissionXI is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Estimator to join a leading contractor based in NoVA. Our client is one of the most established contractors in the Mid-Atlantic, providing world‑class construction services to clients spanning the mission‑critical space, specializing in data centers.
Our client is gearing up for rapid growth this year, with revenue expected to surge in the first six months, and they are seeking an experienced estimator to support this expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead preparation of detailed electrical cost estimates for large‑scale data center projects.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
Develop accurate take‑offs and cost breakdowns for power distribution, lighting, grounding, controls, and low‑voltage systems.
Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for compliance, scope, and competitiveness.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare bid proposals, value engineering options, and budget updates through the project lifecycle.
Utilize estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, or McCormick) and Excel for pricing and documentation.
Stay current with industry pricing, labor rates, and emerging technologies in data center construction.
Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating procedures.
Support pre‑construction planning and turnover to project execution teams.
Requirements
5‑10+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with mission‑critical or data center projects.
Proven track record of bidding and winning large‑scale electrical packages
($10M–$100M+).
Proficient in electrical estimating software
such as Accubid, Trimble Estimation, ConEst, McCormick, or equivalent.
Solid understanding of power distribution system, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and busway.
Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to prepare detailed take‑offs and estimates.
Experience developing
conceptual, schematic, design‑development, and GMP‑level estimates .
Strong capability to quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontract costs.
