Route Service & Sales Rep
Join the Johnson Controls team as a Route Service & Sales Rep, responsible for maintaining and growing service routes for fire suppression and related systems. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, installing, and upselling products to meet compliance with safety regulations.
Base Pay Range $21.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Responsibilities Candidate will lead, maintain and grow a route servicing existing fire extinguisher, kitchen hood, e‑light and pre‑engineered and possibly engineered gas system customers. Inspect, service, repair and install at least two suppression product lines; emergency lights, fire extinguishers, pre‑engineered and industrial systems according to safety requirements and manufacturer’s specifications.
How You Will Do It
Make recommendations based on manufacturer’s specification and state/local codes.
Identify deficiencies, quote, sell, and repair on site.
Upsell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations.
Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria.
Meet or exceed quotas set forth by the direct supervisor.
Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of customer service experience
Strong leadership skills
High school diploma or equivalency
Valid motor vehicle license
Mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge
Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs
Can work in restricted areas and maneuver ladders
High level of customer service skill
Effective communication skills with both internal and external customers
Requires overnight work at least once a month
Hiring Hourly Range $21.12 - $27.40 per hour, adjusted based on education, experience, skills, and market data. Includes a competitive benefits package.
