Your Day at Lowe's Sales Specialists are active, moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and talking to customers. You’ll spend most of your time communicating with customers – discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them accomplish their home improvement goals.

You will become the product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close a sale.

Work may be in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion, Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.

Key Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service by seeking out customers to understand their needs, answer questions, and communicate the advantages of Lowe's products and services.

Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within your department, providing project estimates, scheduling installer visits, processing and tracking orders, and following up to ensure project completion.

If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.

Monitor inventory levels and work with vendors and other stores to find merchandise and order replacement stock.

Perform price reviews according to pricing policies and ensure maintenance of pricing and documentation.

Support checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, or requests for assistance.

Train associates in the department and coach development needs.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

1 year experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years of external experience if education requirement not met).

1 year of experience in sales or customer service in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics.

Able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.

Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods.

Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with accommodation.

Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year experience completing customer sales orders.

1 year experience promoting product-related services such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.

2 years experience designing customized products using 20/20 or CAD system.

Professional certification related to the department.

Bi-lingual skills.

Travel Requirements This role does not require regular travel; occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.

Working Conditions Environmental factors vary by location; you may work inside or outside weather conditions, with exposure to extreme heat or cold, wet, humid conditions, and noise. Lifting guidelines limit single lifts to 75 lbs; team lifts are used when needed.
