Project Intake and Communications Specialist
Kennesaw State University is seeking a Project Intake and Communications Specialist for a full-time, regular position located in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Job Summary The Specialist serves as the primary lead for project intake within the Division of Facilities. Responsibilities include evaluating and organizing project requests, conducting preliminary assessments, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, and developing communications that support executive decision‑making and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
Act as first point of contact for new project requests
Review, track intake submissions, conduct assessments, and coordinate with Project Managers and Campus Planners to determine requirements, scope, and priority
Ensure intake process aligns with institutional standards and strategic goals
Provide input into prioritization and resource allocation
Manage and enhance project tracking information and integrate into Power BI or a similar program
Prepare executive‑level presentations, reports, and dashboards summarizing project status, priorities, and risks
Create and maintain communication plans for construction road closures, utility outages, and other disruptive construction activities, including after‑hours emergency communications
Ensure clarity, professionalism, and alignment with university objectives
Engage with faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners to ensure understanding of project needs and decisions
Promote and maintain transparency and consistency in project communications
Oversee project file management and documentation standards
Conduct post‑project audits to confirm close‑out deliverables are complete and compliant with university requirements
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, facilities management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Required Experience Three (3) years of related experience in construction, facilities, and/or project management.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification such as CAPM, PMP, or CMAA
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Experience in higher education or public‑sector project environments
Experience with Power BI dashboard development and management
Proposed Salary The salary range for this position is $58,000 to $78,000, based on candidate experience and budget availability.

Knowledge of construction or facilities project management processes
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, time management, project management, and presentation skills

Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare professional‑level reports and executive presentations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and related computer applications
Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette
