Contract Specialist

The Contract Specialist coordinates and completes all government, regulatory, and compliance documentation for the organization in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Provides advice and reviews proposals related to government or private industry contracts. Negotiates terms, specifications, delivery dates, and contractual provisions for standard products and systems. Stays current on legal and regulatory changes and ensures appropriate implementation. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, revise, and maintain standard terms and conditions (T&Cs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and software license agreements (SLAs) for sales and service departments. Serve as subject matter expert on commercial and governmental contracts and related terms. Review customer contract documents to minimize risk and ensure acceptability. Manage various customer documents, including purchase agreements, NDAs, vendor qualifications, and on-site safety requirements. Ensure insurance coverage meets contractual requirements, including additional insured status and waivers of subrogation. Collaborate with legal, risk management, and IP counsel for guidance on contractual language. Escalate stalled negotiations to legal counsel when necessary. Communicate approved deviations from standard T&Cs to relevant departments for compliance. Maintain records in accordance with retention policies and manage master files for long-term compliance. Assist in developing additional contractual documents for parts, repairs, services, and trade-ins. Ensure proper registration in business and government databases (e.g., SAM, state agencies). Provide internal training on contracting best practices. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Minimum 3 years of contract-related experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in contract review and negotiation. Familiarity with commercial and government contracting practices, including FAR and DFARS. Ability to research and apply contractual requirements for state and local agencies. Working Conditions:

Office environment in Norwood, MA. Educational Requirements:

B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent experience. Paralegal or similar experience preferred. Customer relations experience (at least 1 yr). Compensation Information: This position has a starting salary range of $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year. Pay is determined by several factors, including a candidate's experience, relevant skills, and qualifications.
