Torque by Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet in Kansas City, MO.
Pay & Benefits
Hourly pay: $36 per hour, based on experience
Retention bonus: $2,000 paid every quarter within the first year

Responsibilities
Interact with customers and independently facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and new repair estimates.
Coordinate work schedule as required by customers and road‑test vehicles to identify causes of complaints.
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs across a wide range of systems (A/C, brakes‑air, brakes‑hydraulic, lifting equipment, charging system, clutch, cooling system, cranking system, lighting, drive axles, driveline, engine, fuel system, steering, suspension, tires & wheels, vehicle coupling).
Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation; adhere to federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines.
Maintain accurate service, safety and environmental records; meet and exceed corporate, federal, state and local requirements.
Mentor SM II level technicians.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification/post‑secondary degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical repair experience (heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment). Two years or more of mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑/medium‑duty equipment also preferred.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A preferred; non‑commercial driver’s license Class E and other state driver’s licenses accepted as required.
Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles and secure mobile service truck.
Proficient in routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical, fuel injection, major engine repairs).
Strong customer‑service, account‑management and relationship‑building skills.
Excellent communication, time‑management and organizational skills.
Self‑starter, flexible and capable of multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to understand and adhere to company policies, complete repair orders, and maintain professional relationships at all levels.
Training and certification requirements (PM230, PM298, BA220, BA298, FH220, FH298, TW220, FMCS 396.25, BH220, BH298, CF609, A/C, HD, SD, SBTIII, diagnostic software courses) within specified timelines.
Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test and background/motor‑vehicle check.
