Department of Revenue is recruiting for multiple Office Specialist 2 (OS2) positions. We are looking for talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Business Division in the Registrations Compliance Administrative Support Unit. These positions are headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidates may be eligible for in-state hybrid work. Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely. To be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, you must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered. What You Will Be Doing Below is a sample of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties. Receive, review and verify completeness of business registrations for multiple tax programs. Contact taxpayers, accountants, payroll services or attorneys to request additional information to complete business registrations. Review multiple computer systems to determine if a new Business Identification Number is needed. Independently respond to correspondence and telephone inquiries from employers, accountants, CPAs, attorneys, payroll tax services, other state agencies, regarding registering a business, subjectivity questions and how to complete forms. Provide assistance and explain laws, programs, policies and procedures to the businesses, partner agencies, and other employees to ensure businesses are set up correctly, explain requirements, and correspondence by phone and in person. This Is What You Need To Qualify Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR an associate degree in any field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
