The Senior Mechanical Engineer participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: HVAC wet/dry, plumbing, controls and the like.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilities
Prepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems designs including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection
General knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systems
Coordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines’ inputs are incorporated
Supports project on-site execution and makes decisions to support projects and act as technical consultant
Assists in providing specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise
Assists in developing studies and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost‑effective work by the discipline team
Works closely with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design offices
Contributes to the development of conceptual, preliminary, and final design documentation, including system sizing and selection calculations, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangements, and sequences of operation
Other duties as assigned
Show your expertise Minimum Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
4+ years of experience
Autodesk Building Systems Software
Preferred
Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record recommended
Consulting engineering experience
Experience working within a team environment
Experience in the quality control review process
Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
Advanced Technology experience preferred
