An established transportation organization is seeking an experienced freight brokerage professional to take ownership of customer relationships and day-to-day freight execution. This role is ideal for someone who prefers full autonomy over their accounts and enjoys being accountable for both revenue generation and service delivery.
This is not a handoff role. The right individual will manage the entire lifecycle of freight from customer acquisition through execution and retention.
Role Overview
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of shipper accounts
- Independently price freight and secure carrier capacity
- Execute shipments from tender to final delivery
- Serve as the primary contact for customers and carriers
- Resolve service issues proactively and professionally
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Maintain accurate activity and performance tracking in internal systems
Required Background
- Prior experience in freight brokerage or third-party logistics
- Direct involvement in both sales and operations
- Working knowledge of spot market pricing and capacity trends
- Proven ability to manage accounts independently
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
