Junior CAD Technician – Sprinturf
PlayCore is seeking a Junior CAD Technician to join our Sprinturf team.
Key Responsibilities
Develop complete shop drawing packages for each project based on architectural, engineering, or contractor‑provided plans.
Produce drawings for design‑build projects without formal plans.
Incorporate project‑specific details into drawing sets.
Produce drawings primarily using AutoCAD.
Create graphics using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Perform takeoffs, calculations, and data entry using Microsoft Excel.
Review and interpret plans, markups, and details.
Maintain and follow Sprinturf’s CAD standards, templates, page setups, blocks, and sports regulations.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Assistants, Estimators, and Pre‑Construction staff.
Occasionally communicate with Sales Representatives and installation crews for clarification of field‑specific needs.
Coordinate design intent reviews and confirm accuracy of measurements, details, and site conditions.
Perform quantity takeoffs for turf, infill, and accessory materials.
Assist in updating and maintaining CAD libraries, blocks, templates, and detail sheets.
Prepare or adjust graphics for proposals or presentations.
Export and format files for manufacturing, installation, and internal review.
Maintain organized drawing files and revision histories.
Qualifications
Basic experience with AutoCAD (coursework, training program, or self‑taught).
Experience using design or digital tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, or site plans.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured workflows.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Good organizational and time‑management skills.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred (Not Required)
Familiarity with sports‑field layouts or sport governing‑body regulations.
Experience preparing or reviewing construction plans or technical drawings.
Background in drafting, engineering technology, graphic design, or related fields.
