Position Summary: Provides independent living services to clients enrolled in the Independent Living Program as well as provides supervision to the Independent Living staff to ensure that they are supporting and coaching clients, so they achieve success with their self-sufficiency goals.
Must be able to attend required in-person trainings within two months of hire.
Duties and Responsibilities
Understands and follows ECH policies and procedures, complies with all regulations and guidelines governing group home care
Attends individual and group supervision meetings, trainings, and other meetings as scheduled
Respond to crisis situations when needed
Coordinate transportation to educational, vocational or employment opportunities
Participate in case staffing as scheduled
Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team, cooperating with and involving other team members to help enrolled clients achieve established goals
Coach clients using evidence based interventions on a wide range of topics including financial literacy, money management, housing, transportation, personal hygiene, community resources, developing and sustaining healthy relationships, civic engagement and responsibilities, and other areas identified by individualized assessment tools
Assist clients with services that reduce and eliminate barriers to obtaining vital records, completing education and employment goals, and successfully transitioning to independence
Reviews and approves all documentation completed by the staff
Train, teach, supervise, and evaluate the Independent Living staff within the C.A.R.E. framework and Together Facing the Challenge interventions that align with the mission, policies and procedures adopted by Epworth Children's Home and required by the State of South Carolina
Ensure the safety and well‑being of clients and maintain a secure, clean, and compliant living environment by overseeing the effective operation of the assigned cottage unit, including adherence to Epworth and state standards for documentation, supervision, medication administration, safety protocols, cleanliness, and inspection readiness.
Participate as appropriate in the PQI process, including attendance at case file audit meetings
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Master's degree in a Human Service field or a Bachelor's degree and one (1) year experience in residential group care or an Associate's Degree and two (2) years experience in residential child group care or four (4) years of experience at Epworth
Prefer a minimum of four (4) years of experience working with children and families, three (3) of which should be in residential group care
Prefer a minimum of one (1) year in a counseling or social worker capacity
Has a belief system and engages in faith practices that are compatible with those of the United Methodist Church
Must be able to pass standard background checks, including drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry and Sex Offenders Registry
